 Originally from Berlin, Melanie Munt lives and works in Brussels since 1996.

Supported by various scholarships (Vienna: Dance Web, New York…), she trains as a dancer in Berlin, Rotterdam, Brussels and in NY. After her graduation from the school of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, P.A.R.T.S., in 1999, she collaborates in Belgium with choreographers such as Michèle Noiret, Joanne Leighton, David Hernandez, Bud Blumenthal, …

In 2002, she creates her own company that, by now, has a repertory of about 14 pieces. Her curiosity for other art forms influences her work and leads to various collaborations, such as with the puppeteer Cyril Bourgois, the visual artist Charley Case, the musicians Marco Blaauw and Yannis Kyriakides, the video artists Martijn Grootendorst and Antonin De Bemels. Her work is shown mostly in Brussels and Paris, but recently opening up internationally (NL, D, ES, IT, CH, PL and HR). Her work got international support from the flamish and the wallonian side of Belgium, Zwitzerland, France and the Netherlands (Ministère de la communauté française Wallonie-Bruxelles – Service de la Danse, Vlaamse Gemeenschaps Commissie van het Brusselse Gewest, SACD (1500 heures pour danser), Théâtre de la Balsamine, Charleroi Danses, le Centre culturel Jacques Franck, les Bains : Connecticve, iMal asbl, NADINE vzw, asbl Quoi d’autre, Théâtre de Namur, Periactes, Bissectine (Wolu-Culture), Théâtre de L'L, de Alaeti Dance Center et de l'Espace Demeer, Centre Chorégraphique National de Franche-Comté à Belfort (Fr), Fonds de coopération culturelle Territoire de Belfort / République et Canton du Jura (CH-Fr), danse! - association jurassienne pour la danse contemporaine (CH), festival éviDanse (CH), Pour-cent culturel Migros (CH), Het Muziekenhuis (NL)).
