Linda Samaraweerová (1977, Prague) completed her studies at P.A.R.T.S. in 2002. She lives and works as choreographer and performer in Austria, where she creates projects in collaboration with the Austrian visual artist Karl Karner. Their performances are a continous examination of choreographical strategies in different enviroments crossing the borders of narration in performing and visual art forms. The choreographic works are developed out of sculpture, installation, performance, dance, theatre and video and are presented internationally in the form of exhibitions or performances. As artist in residence Linda Samaraweerová was invited to Bucharest; Prague; Salzburg; Paris; Tallinn; Vienna and Baku. She recieved scholarships by Dancas Na Cidade (Lisbon), Dance Web (Vienna), IDEE (Tallinn), tanzhaus nrw (Düsseldorf).
Karl Karner and Linda Samaraweerová regularly cooperate with Tanzquartier Wien. They have also performed in the following venues: Lentos Museum, Austria; Landesmuseum Joanneum/ Neue Galerie Graz, Austria; Donaufestival, Austria; brut, Austria; Akademie Graz, Austria; szene Salzburg, Austria; Centre of Contemporary Art, Azerbaijan; Colombo Art Biennale, Sri Lanka; United Artists Club, Azerbaijan; Art Festival, Georgia.
Their experiments in communication are made visible and tangible in the publications: ‘Greenkasten’ published by Kerber Verlag | (www.kerberverlag.com) in 2012 and ‘I Think We Have a Good Time‘ in 2009.
